Matt Skinner is the owner and founder of AGK. He comes from England, but moved to USA in 2010.
As a youth goalkeeper, he played for English Academy’s; Reading, Crystal Palace and Southampton between the ages of 10 & 16. Along with Academy playing experience, Matt also played for his county of Berkshire and for South England, as well as 2 appearances for the South Korea u16 national team.
Upon graduating the senior level , Matt continued to play until he was 21, before moving to Virginia, USA to play in PDL and NAIA on a scholarship.
Injury forced Matt to an early retirement as a player and at 25, he transitioned into coaching full time.
Since then, Matt has coached various teams of boys and girls from ages 8 to 18.
In 2017, AGK was born and Matt specialized in goalkeeper coaching, his own position for 20+ years.
Since 2017, AGK has coached countless goalkeepers in NJ. Helped scout and place goalkeepers of all ages into ECNL, GA, MLS and National League teams. Guided keepers to a level beyond youth soccer as collegiate athletes in many colleges ranging from NCAA Div 1, to Junior Colleges throughout the nation. Instructed national team goalkeepers who have competed at Copa America and European Championships. And also provided consultancy and guidance to clubs and coaches in the structuring of their keepers in their respective clubs.
It’s AGK’s mission to provide a platform for keepers to feel safe, understood, supported and challenged. AGK is a place where keepers can be given real coaching, real tactical implementation, and a real understanding of the psychological aspects of this great position.
